Solar Mounting Structures

The structure holds modules at the designed tilt and orientation and transfers wind and dead loads safely into the roof or ground.

Galvanised steel solar mounting structure being installed on a concrete roof

What it is

A mounting structure is the mechanical backbone of a solar plant. It fixes tilt and azimuth, maintains clearance for airflow and cleaning, and must withstand site wind loading for the system's full life without damaging the roof it sits on.

Where it is used

  • RCC terrace installations with elevated or standard structures
  • Metal sheet and standing-seam industrial roofs
  • Ground-mount and MW-scale plants
  • Elevated structures over parking, walkways and open yards

Key specifications

Materials
Hot-dip galvanised steel, pre-galvanised GI or aluminium rail systems
Roof interfaces
Chemical or mechanical anchoring, ballast (non-penetrative), sheet clamps, standing-seam clamps
Design inputs
Site wind speed, roof structure capacity, tilt, row spacing and shadow analysis
Fasteners
Stainless steel fasteners at module and rail interfaces
Clearance
Set for airflow, cleaning access and maintenance movement

Specifications and warranty

  • Structure design is site-specific. Section sizes and foundation details follow the structural assessment for your roof or land.
  • On sheet roofs, the mounting approach is selected to preserve roof waterproofing and, where relevant, roofing warranty conditions.
