Solar Cables, Connectors & BOS
Balance of system covers everything between the modules and the supply point — where quality quietly decides long-term safety and losses.

What it is
BOS includes DC and AC cables, connectors, array junction boxes, cable management, earthing, lightning protection and surge protection. These items are rarely visible after commissioning, which is exactly why they need correct specification at design stage.
Where it is used
- DC runs from array to inverter
- AC runs from inverter to distribution board or panel
- Array junction boxes and string combiner boxes
- Earthing grids and lightning protection systems
Key specifications
- DC cable
- UV-resistant, double-insulated solar cable rated for the system DC voltage
- Connectors
- IP-rated PV connectors (MC4 type) crimped with the correct tooling
- Cable sizing
- Sized for current rating and voltage drop over the actual route length
- Protection
- DC and AC protection devices, surge protection at array and inverter side
- Earthing
- Separate earthing for module frames, structure and inverter as per design
Specifications and warranty
- Cable sizes and protective device ratings are derived from the system design for your site, not from a generic kit list.
- Routing uses conduit and tray with UV protection so that exposed cabling does not degrade over time.
Where this fits in our services
MW / Utility Scale Solar EPC
Solar EPC means one contractor carries engineering, procurement and construction responsibility for a solar plant. GLS executes MW-scale solar projects covering civil works, DC and AC works, balance of system, commissioning and ongoing O&M.
Solar Rooftop Solutions
Rooftop solar converts sunlight falling on your roof into electricity that your building uses first, reducing the units you draw from the grid. GLS designs, installs, commissions and maintains rooftop systems in Chennai and across Tamil Nadu.
Solar O&M / Maintenance
Solar O&M keeps an installed plant generating close to its design output through scheduled cleaning, electrical inspection, performance review and prompt fault rectification. GLS provides O&M for its own installations and for systems built by others.
